- James 1:2-3
People have problems. Some might be small. Some might be big. The common denominator is that people always call on God. They call whether they believe in a God or not.
"Oh God, please..." or "If you are there, God, would you..." or my personal favorite "God if you do this, then I will..."
Why do we call on God when we have problems? Why don't we praise Him in a storm?
My pastor's wife has stage 4 cancer. I can never relate to his pain. The things that gives me pain is like an ant compared to this man's Elephant of a suffering. But his suffering does not compare to Christ's suffering for all our sins. He took all our shortcomings, all our sins into himself and died for us. Us, an undeserving people.
I thank God for all his blessings to me and all his trials. I will overcome them with God's help.
What if my greatest disappointments or the aching of this life is the revealing of a greater thirst this world cannot satisfy? What if the rain, the storms, the hardest nights are your mercies in disguise? I will praise you in the storm.
